Watched a Mel bch local attempt a paddle out In front of the only spot you can sip a bev and watch the surf.  The outside looked good, lining up a bit, 6 foot faces; fun looking from the safety of 2nd story vantage pont.

.

I timed him, 25 mins of nonstop paddling and he never made it to the beginning of the mid break impact zone. The longshore current was not too bad. Finally,  he bellied in and proceeded to do the walk of shame. good on him for the attempt...builds character.

Sounds like Sands... 6 footers lining up on the outside of the washing machine and nobody making it out?

I've been stuck up in the Rockies (not complaining) and am ready for "when it's mackin' so hard only two dudes paddle out!"

No shame at all. Atleast he attempted it, most people sit on the beach talking about it. Like " man if it was better I would paddle out."
