STANDBY - Next call 8am AUS // 8pm EST

KP said winds are forecast to change quickly so they're gonna wait a bit and make the call. Fingers crossed...

He made a statement about there being "a lot more swell" so I'm not holding my breath.

admittedly- me too. I'm so conflicted with that though as I'm such a regularft barrellworshiper so cream for box (sOO like 4mile), but, that main break is one of the best tests for pros on the tour.

mucho! boX

I read similar comments on the Surfline features and other sites. How do these peeps, including you Dylan, think that you can say the calls to run are "horrible"? Are you there? You think they are trying to run in shit conditions? Stop all the hating. Back in the day I used to read the results of tour events in a surf mag a month or two after the fact. I enjoy watching these contest live and can't complain about a thing. What? You think they should've run yesterday to try and squeeze in the last 3 heats before the wind picked up? How can all these trolls think they can do a better job than KP? I guarantee that KP's analysis of the swell and conditions are well above your comprehension.

Just stop all the hating and enjoy the g-damn feed. So sick of such negative comments from internet idiots.

If they didn't run today, it would only get smaller.

Adriano way over scored on his first waves. JJF was throwing down more critical turns on every wave. Maybe the WSL is hoping the brazilians can bring more $$ to the industry?

I have always been a big advocate for finishing a maneuver or wave until the end ... without falling. That is why I have never been impressed with 99% of all of the "airs / boosts" that I see.

That said .... without question, JJF was the better surfer in the final.

I agree with you on a finishing a wave, but where do we draw the line when discussing "being tenative" on a wave.  Id rather see 3 vertical turns in the pocket, than 3 cutbacks and a floater.  Regardless, Margs was a great event.

Adriano picked off the set waves, surfed them powerfully and completed them and then out smarted JJ with priority at the end.  He deserved his win in my book.

Adriano surfed the waves hard to the end. I thought JJ started finishing tentatively to make sure he completed them. But at that point he didn't have the wave size to get into the eights on most waves.

2nd Light Fantasy: Greensleeves made up some ground on me but I held out. Vic picked up some ground too.

Their is "winning" in a contest heat ... and their is who (in your opinion) was the better "surfer" in the water ... I stand by my assessment that JJf was far and way the better surfer.

His turns were FAR more powerful / crucial and in the hook. What JJF did not do was finish the last maneuver on 2 waves and it cost him the title.
