tried to sift through all the PR posts but couldn't find exactly what I needed. Been once, stayed by jobos, surfed small wildo, surfers beach, but there was no real swell! not looking like NE / ENE winds is a problem for wildos down to marias, am I right? Also, looking for a hostel type place around rincon (but open to suggestions) that's easy and cheap for 2-4 people to enjoy. Need to work from there intermittently, wifi a plus.

Unless there is a cold front; you will catch better waves on the North Shore side. Winds will come up during the day but wave size will be bigger Isabela to the East. Some nice places right outside gate 5 at Ramey base, close to everything and reasonable.

Punta tiano on sandys beach, fun beach break out front, good food nearby, and the good reefbreaks are a 2 minute drive. Real mellow, safe, good location and inexpensive

@wd321, that's what i'm seeing. Was hoping some more people "in the know" could comment... I've never been down while there was a classic cold front swell, been to domes...but it was flat haha

I don't know much about Rincon. I never really had a reason to drive there. It looks to be pretty good Tuesday-Friday with Wednesday being the biggest at maybe double over head. I'm not sure if the swell is gonna be big enough for downtown aguadilla to break. When its on, downtown is the spot to be with two perfect right sand/reef point-breakish waves: Bridges and Schoolyards. Bigger waves will be found in the Wilderness area through Surfers beach, but you gotta worry about the trade winds there. Wishing well is to the south of Wilderness, and is usually a little smaller but is punchy compared Wildos. I like surfing jobos if its a north-east swell and if the crowd is minimal- sometimes it happens but don't get your hopes up. Middles is good on north swells and is a pretty powerful wave when it has some size. But I think this is going to be a NW-NNW swell, so Jobos and Middles probably won't be that good. The wind picks up the as the day progresses, so get on it early. I think Rincon stays cleaner than the Isabela area though. The main issue you will encounter are crowds.

Skip rincon,   give elvis a call

http://www.vrbo.com/119637>>

stayed at his place 7x now,   2 min from BQN, Wildo, surfers, and jobos.   Has wifi, gas grill and large patio to chill at night,  and in a quiet neighborhood right behind rodsalindas.

do not stay at the hostile hostel at table rock in aguada,  looks like a good set up but no bueno

I stay here- https://www.flipkey.com/aguadilla-vacation-rentals/p323557/

Pool, rancho w/ hammock, grill, private, a couple blocks to the airport (Ramey)- close to all the breaks. (ten minutes to Middles and ten minutes to Gas Chambers. 20 minutes to Tres Palma's w/ good traffic.
The host that you meet may be able to show you the breaks (Sorry, bad w/ remembering names).

Have fun. Looks like possibly NE winds w/ good sized swell.

Guys thanks for the replies... going to check those places out! Do you guys in-the-know think those winds next week are going to mess with jobos to wildo? Looks like pretty strong out of NE/ENE... I was thinking about trying to stay further down toward tres palmas, seems to be offshore there.

talk to Tom Luker.  787-509-3440 or 787-997-3349.  Cheap rooms and has PR dialed in.

The swell will be too west at first for Jobos and middles, maybe the swell will come from a more northerly direction as it starts to fade though. The rock at Jobos does a pretty good job at blocking the wind for the most part. Wildos will probably be clean in the mornings and windy in the afternoons. A lot of times if Middles is blown out mid day Wildos will still be clean for a little while longer because it faces more west. Wind forecasts are super hard to predict, so I wouldn't put too much faith in the current forecast, but for the most part there are calm winds in the morning and then ENE-NE trade winds in the afternoon. Sometimes a rain shower will lighten the wind.

Guys thanks for all the info, what a great resource! I do feel bad calling tom lurker, i see his place is outside of rincon and I'm really trying to make the stay there happen. That area should be fun, and i've already done the jobos/surfers beach/wildo thing, looking for a different experience this time (plus those waves will be happening i think!) Tip, you seem to be really in the know in Rincon, and recommendations for Rincon accommodations? So far it's just me an one other guy, preferring to save money and not do a resorty thing, but would like to be in an ok location, and pretty set on rincon.

Villa Palma in the Sandy's area, can get a good deal because it is early in the season, The Lazy Parrot is OK but a bit pricey.  VBRO the rincon area is a good choice as well.
