My first thoughts were of Logjammer when I saw the post.
I'm sure he is smiling about this exhibit. RIP Chris ------------------------- Puerto Rico 11 - 24 - 2013 Edited: 04/07/2014 at 05:39 AM by SunriseSurfer |

I'm sure there will be many memories of Chris shared during the exhibit opening. This exhibit should be popular with the younger generation who are getting into handplanes, surf mats, and retro boards as well as the long time surfers who loved to watch George Greenough.

Two of Logjammer's paipo boards will be on-loan in the exhibit, a wood and the other a foam & glass fish paipo. Chris, known as "Tumak" on the paipo-related forums, will be present in spirit

Here is just a little preview or the coolness to come. Two Laguna style paipos fresh from California courtesy of Jeff Qam. One, a high performance EPS/epoxy. The other a chambered balsa classic.

Not sure of what to make of the things people are holding.... Heritage photo, 13 December 1939, from the Auckland Weekly News. Libraries Heritage Images, Auckland Council. (update in response to surfersensei, below: water temperature was likely in the 60s. Surf-forecast.com). Great to see that there'll be some boards like these at the exhibit. Those folks are riding wood bellyboards typical of the period. We have a couple of examples in the exhibit. BTW the water temperature in that area is probably in the mid 50's :-0
