Sure, but his accuser was credible and had revealed the assault contemporaneously. I think an unbiased person would be inclined to believe his accuser. Without hard evidence a conviction would be difficult, however, that's not required for someone to be disqualified from the SCOTUS. He was pushed through by the GOP for political purposes and I expect a future president with a friendly congress to nominate several extra justices to restore balance.

The GOP will one day rail against the new powers they have created in the executive branch.

smollett seemed credible to me at first glance. most unbiased people were inclined to believe him too. looks like i was wrong about him, as was the media and everyone else. only bringing this up because it shows the value of accusations without evidence. we live in a world where a person can be found guilty in the court of public opinion at the blink of an eye. it should not rule.
