Baccariophoenix alfredii have turned out to be great coconut replacements. Looks very similar, tolerant of neglect, & bonus without coconuts falling on your head.

Unless you like coconuts. I've got a coconut tree in the yard and I'm tired of cleaning up the nuts. I don't eat or process them. nuisance.
