Be careful at the Searle sale. They are great people and have incredible palms/plants.
The only problem is that most of it won't grow here in Brevard. I got some great advice 20 years ago from the great "Obi-Wan- Harry Palms" He said, "When it comes growing a particular palm, don't take any advice from anyone that lives South of you." For example, take the extreme case, somebody looking to grow a particular palm in Jacksonville, should not take palm growing advice from somebody in Miami. Also, the official USDA Zones 8, 9, 10 are a very loose guide that don't take micro climates into account, like Merritt Island. Searle has incredible stuff and it does really well......down in South West Ranches. Just my $0.02 |
