My question is regarding annual fruit production. I inherited the tree when I bought my house, guessing it's around 6-8 years old, going on my third year in the house. The first year we owned the house it had already fruited and then we got that big freeze which almost killed it. After a hard pruning down to the trunk to get rid of the freeze damage it came out last spring in overdrive. Last year it had a huge crop and by mid March it already had flowers and fruit. After harvest last summer I pruned it back to encourage a lower canopy, but by the end of the summer it had fully recovered with lots of new growth.

Fast forward a year almost to the day and, and no new growth, no flowers nada.

Do they produce every year, or is it an every other year ordeal? On a positive note I planted a fruit punch last summer and it is just starting to set fruit.

Glenn produce every year for me. Probably the pruning stunted it back. You are suppose to prune mango though. Sometimes mango skip a year. Don't fertilize the tree this year and see if it shocks it into flowering next year.

Found one little branch on the whole tree that was flowering with a couple tiny little fruit but the rest of the tree isn't producing. Glad I planted a second tree.

Is the tree in full sun? mango need full sun and if some of the tree is shaded it won't produce as well if at all in the shade.

Yes full sun and had a huge crop last year.

Check your early mango today if you got that major storm. I had about 20 early mango drop due to it. They look like they are mature enough to ripen on the counter.

Last night I ate my first mango of the season. A rosigold. It dropped last week during a storm. It ripened up perfectly, although it was underdeveloped. Mango in April! Early Early!

My Glenn just now has its first new growth showing since the fall as of the last couple days, so who knows, maybe it's just late flowering. My fruit punch has dropped a million mangos so far and is left with maybe a dozen.

My winter Mexican avocado dropped everything so at this point I'm working on beefing up the tree size for next year. The avocados it produced last year were every bit as good as a store bought Haas.

no glenns for me this year or last. I'm going to ignore it this year and skip any fertilizer or micronutrients. Hopefully my valenica pride will flower soon

Had my 20 foot tall Valencia Pride tree trimmed last year after all the fruit was done for the year, a year later is has no blooms on it yet. I know this is a late season variety, but I am thinking the tree may not be producing this year?

After hard trimming sometimes 2 or 3 years it takes to reflower.

I'm currently eating rosigold.

FB - I have the same 1 branch with fruit. well there was one a month ago, got big as apples and the squirrels ate all of them. then a week later another branch bloomed and not they are lemon sized. last year we had 350 mangoes. none the 2 years before due to the storms shocking them-- had 180mph burst go down street and it pealed off the center of the roof shingles. havent fertiziled it in years.... just egg shells

Being that it seems like rainy season started early this year, check your mango. Windy and new rain the early mango start to drop. Best to clean up any fruit under the tree so rodents don't discover where they are. And/or, eat them yourself.

I put strawberry containers over my mangos last year to protect them from the rodents while they grew. It worked pretty good.

My fruit punch dropped all but a few fruit, but at least I will get to try them. Planted it last year.
