So has anyone tried using sargassum for fertilizer here locally?

Any plant types respond better to it than others?

There is a shot ton of it on the beaches now...

I did a few years back when it got pretty thick. I washed it out in a tub. I mixed it in with some other mulch/compost. Stuff didn't die, so I suppose that was good? I'm not real versed in planting knowledge though. My wife really likes shroom compost plus what we get from our buttonwoods and veggie garbage bowl.

So what you're saying is I just bought all these bags of mulch for nothing? Hahah great video. Organic fertilizer. spread one inch thick and wash with running water for an hour, organic mulch and compost as well. Great for plants who love acidic soil.

I'll watch the vid later but seeweed has to be great fertilizer. Minus the possible salt content if any.

A few years back, we had a massive load wash on the beaches in St. Aug. I loaded up the truck with quite a bit (shhhh).... rinsed it in an empty trash can, and mulched / composted it into my vegetable garden. ... whether it was coincidence or not, I Had a great garden that year

Sargassum invasion is back with a vengeance. I'm thinking about grabbing a trash bag full this afternoon to mix in with our compost, after rinsing and drying of course
