How did I miss this topic? Flamingo is one of my favorite places.
You could have taken Joes River out to Shark River.
The east side of the bay would be Hells Bay. Ive never explored deep into there but I imagine its awesome and it sounds like you did well. yes the mouth of the shark river and surrounding areas are epic. We have a spot called the snook hole and I took my buddy there and he caught a lunker on his first cast. The crocodile thing is crazy. he lives next to the ramp and hes never eaten anyone and they let Japanese tourist rent canoes right next to him. crazy???

It was a super cool experience and an awesome area I cant wait to go back.

We poked into Joe River, got two 3' bullsharks soaking ladyfish for tarpon. I wish we would have run all the way to lostmans but were scared to go to far and it was super rough like 20mph, also I was hoping the banks around the east side would be a little deeper, but most were only 1-2' so there were some solo fish but pretty spooky and spread out. I guess near lostmans is where you can find those deep mangrove shorelines with snook and goliaths and snappers so will try next time!

Also went into Ingrahm lake a little bit at low tide and it was one of the coolesest things I have seen looked like the surface of the moon all drained out mud for miles with crocs everywhere on the banks!
