Manta Rays and spinners off of Patrick yesterday. Gannets bombing out on the color change. I watched a nice sporty wheel on something, then search for awhile, but no one took a cast. The rays were in shallow just outside of the surf break, maybe 20 feet of water.

I saw all this from the beach while checking the surf.

There was a zillion boats heading out of the port today. I was headed west for work and they were headed east to fish.

last week on the full moon boats were crushing the big wahoo out of Jax and St Aug, I know probably a dozen people who all got 3-4 hoos with a few being 80-90 lbs and I think someone had a tripple digit all probably high speeding!

Another buddy went out friday outta the inlet and seen like 40 rays..but were all empty...said he went out of Canaveral Thursday and aeen a ray just offshore around patrick, had a solid fish on him...but sort of ran him over due to the glare of the sun.... True, jigging the shallow wrecks might pay off if you are the first one there. Years ago, we sat by the Lead wreck and watched the three boats already there toss jigs with no luck. Something shadowed deep under us as we sat, so we tossed out a live sardine; twenty minutes later we drove off with four 25lb plus Blackfin in the cooler. Luck makes the rules when it comes to fishing. lol

Last year any south wind seemed to push the rays right in the surf and most were empty and the rays were not cruising but turning and looping around all bunched up. Although most were empty we did get a few fish in less than 12' of water but it seemed like 1 out of 20 had a fish vs when they are out deep. Also we never saw any of fish we hooked as I believe they were just trying to keep up with the loopy rays lol

lots of spanish around

There were so many in the CB hood over the weekend I was worried about my fingers. A macker of an airborne spinner missed a guy just down from me by a few feet. The look on his face was hilarious, but then again, that shit is way more funny when it isn't you. lol

Lots of fish, just the wrong kind.

Hot, cold, hot, cold; the fish have no clue as to where in the hell they need to be.
