went to the beach a few times this week and their are looonnnggg trains of mullet of all sizes heading south in the surf. What has been cool is the number of small tarpon I am seeing chasing them. I am seeing little five and ten pounders which I never remember seeing in the surf but IMO are more fun than the 50+ gang!

Fished the last 3 early mornings in CB. Lots of bait in the water. Today my bait was picked up and ran with multiple times....2 hook ups, both sharks. 3 and 4 footer. I also watched a 10-12 year old kid pull in a keeper Snook with his Dad. He was soooooo stoked.
Another guy got a nice slot red fish. Waves are picking up so free lining was a bit of a bitch. Your bait would travel south fast and get pulled back in towards the beach. I might use a slider rig tomorrow......

Inlet was full of bait, but the snook were comatose. The place was packed with little Mutton snapper, people were getting them on the jetties, rocks and catwalks. I never saw on that was keeping size. I took time to get the perfect Mojarra and the aerator stroked out and took the bait with it.

South side for mutton. I can tell you where to throw the bait. IM me if you go again. I'll let you know where to cast. Cut bait works best for me. Also, let them run with it a little while. You probably know that about snapper already. The hold it, run off then eat it.

There is something on the bottom between the start of the rail on the south jetty to the catwalk. I tied and lost eight rigs in a row. I've been tossing bait in the area for decades and never had a problem. I've never seen anything like it.

Muttons are south/beach side. But I know where to throw. If there are around, the big ones hang there and ambush.

The tarpon were putting on quite an air show at the north jetty Friday and Saturday. Big tarpon. Big jumps. Mullet everywhere but not horse mullet. Maybe six or seven inch sized.

Hop might be the wrong word, that's like saying a piano dropped into the water makes a splash.
