USSR sucked and it failed. Ukraine struck out on their own and became a productive independent nation. They owe Russia nothing, and should be protected as a sovereign nation as accorded by international law.

I think it's a situation where the US/NATO is willing to fight Putin to the last Ukrainian. But I don't have a dog in the fight.

I think it might turn out bad for Europe though.
