Good idea. The most expensive part on the EV is the battery.

I don't really care whether people drive coal cars or gas powered but it would appear that some of you didn't get past the headline on the whole coal car thing, per usual.

Tell me about how green the lithium mining industry is.

So, 95% of the electricity that goes into coal cars, is produced by burning coal. The lithium and cobalt mining industry is bad for the environment and is full of forced work and slave labor. States like California already can't handle the number of endpoints they have plugged into their power grid. And nobody knows what the environmental impact of all these batteries will be when their usable life has been exceeded and we need to find a way to get rid of them. I'm not sure that a lot of people are all that interested in talking about the all-in impact these cars will have on the environment and what that looks like.

Sniper, you might want to do some actual research before posting nonsense. It just makes you look stupid.

The image of the excavator had me do some searching.

It is a rotary excavator in Germany used in surface lignite mining.

What is lignite?

Brown coal.

There are 241 coal plants in the US.

There are 1,900 natural gas plants in the US.
