The fact that they fully embraced the Alex Jones world view about the time Obama got elected should have been the warning bell. What is crazy is that the Kevin McCarthys and Mitch McConnells and Ron Desantises don't really believe any of that shit. They are cynically appealing to the Truthers and the Birthers and the Pizzagaters in order to court their vote knowing that all traditional Republicans will hold their nose and vote R no matter how crazy as long as they think that R will keep the government from taking their stuff and giving it to undeserving people. The collateral damage is that they are managing to mainstream some really far our shit like that historically pedaled by fringe Alex Jones, Joe Mercola, etc... types.
