Of course not. No one with a lick of sense would believe most of these polls. They were trying to pressure pro-life politicians and judges with false information. It's what they do. Most of us see through it anymore.

Kind of amusing that you are saying 'Democrats' when numerous people from all political viewpoints are upset.

Democrats are to be shamed for never codifing Roe vs Wade and simply using it as a mule to carry fundraising money.
In the 1st term of the Obama administration, this should have been job 1. But, again, squandered in the 1st 100 Biden days. Frankly, as a life-long Democrat, I'm looking at the party and saying, "WTF?". Bernie Bros and affiliated progressives stayed home in 2016. Hillary was too established, you see, and the Dotard bumbled into office. The Court got packed and jacked to the fundamentally bassackwards right and here we are. |

It has been a long 12 years or so but the removal of FEC restrictions was the kick that started us in this downhill slide. It has affected the quality and integrity of both parties.
Citizens United and other court decisions allowing big campaign money + Super PACs + politicians who are not in the game to serve their constituents = where we are now. Getting rid of big money in elections would be a great start to bringing us back to sane politics. In what world does it make financial sense to spend your own money to the tune of 75 million to become a governor, and 63 million to become a senator? For a person who claims to be a mighty businessman that is a pretty damn crappy investment...unless there is a payback along the way. And by the way Scott is now the nations richest Senator. So, i guess he does know what he is doing. ------------------------- If I should ever die, God forbid, let this be my epitaph: THE ONLY PROOF HE NEEDED FOR THE EXISTENCE OF GOD WAS MUSIC - KV Edited: 06/28/2022 at 04:16 AM by Bamboo |

As a socialist and past Bernie supporter I can't let this go without pointing out/reminding everyone that Hillary Clinton's running mate, Tim Kayne, was openly and publicly anti-abortion. From my point of view, the Dem Party is utterly incompetent and not worthy of support. Dems will rush to remind me, of course, that I have no one else to vote for, but I'm beyond tired of that condescension. The Constitution was written as an intentionally anti-democratic schema to protect the wealth and position of landed white male gentry. It's hardly a document to govern a modern and diverse society, and it's not with the parchment it's written on. If you want to do something to help protect women, the place to put your support, both direct and financial, is in the mutual aide networks that will be assisting women in accessing the care they need in the near future in the setting of state repression. ------------------------- Capitalism is based on the ridiculous notion that you can enjoy limitless growth in a closed, finite system.
