Try to retire before you are 65 and pay your own healthcare... Fuck that shit unless you don't mind blowing through about 1k$ a month per person - for very high deductable care that you wouldn't use unless you have cancer, heart attack, stroke etc.. ..
If you retire pre 65 years old, you'd be an ass not to jump on the O'care bandwagon, esp if your (visible) wages from other means are practically non-existent.. If you are a working stiff earning something close to a living wage, O'care is not a great help, but it 'helps' to an extent - 'sometimes'. The cutoff income for NO O'care assistance is really not that high .. 4 times the poverty wage.. 1$ above and you get ZERO O'care help and pay 'full' ('bend over rover') price.. E.g Cutoff about 68k$ total for a fam of 2.. BUT If you are at 20K$ it does really help - a lot.. When you see the amount of $ that is totally wasted on our 'Military Industrial Complex' etc, taking 'advantage' of subsidized health care IF you are self employed AND not earning a shit ton of $, is a no brainer.. The MIC, esp in this area, is the biggest welfare thing going on by far - by sheer $ amount and $ per capita amounts.. Without it WTF would most everyone be doing? Really? Q.E.D. The "Medical Industrial Complex' (MIC#2) charges way more than twice for your "Insurance' if you ae self employed. Believe me, I've 'been there' living that 'bend over' reality since 1994. MIC#2 not far behind for all of FL - lots of gerries like me & surfrc loafing around..
