The Supreme Court is meant to ensure any laws passed at either the State or Federal Level do not go against what is defined in the Constitution. That is it. The Court is not to decide on the morality of the law, or interject any personal bias into the consideration. Its when the latter happens, the Court just becomes a political act.

Even most leftist Constitutional scholars agree that Roe was a bad decision. And they are right.

So which is it Rusty....here you're saying the American government is a failure, yet in the other thread you said "The right wing has succeeded in convincing an unfortunately large number of people that government is incapable of doing anything to improve material conditions"

So are you admitting you can't trust the government? Are you saying its because the right wing convinced you? Or are you saying you can only trust the competency of the government when dealing with YOUR health?

The critique on Roe was that it created a judicial discovery of the right to privacy from the penumbra of rights already guaranteed by due process and equal protection. This was later cleared up in Planned Parenthood vs. Casey.
