Trump should be forced to identify the specific crimes he making pardons for. That would make his pardons for his family interesting.

It also means they are admitting guilt to whatever crime they are being pardoned for.

From today's Politico article:

>> Trump's pardon absolves Flynn of "any and all possible offenses" arising from Mueller's investigation, as well as any related grand jury proceedings. The clemency grant uses sweeping language, immunizing Flynn from charges based on "facts and circumstances, known to, identified by, or in any manner related to the investigation of the Special Counsel."

Some legal experts described Trump's move as perhaps the broadest act of clemency since President Gerald Ford pardoned Richard Nixon in 1974.

"Pardons are typically directed at specific convictions or at a minimum at specific charges," said Margy Love, former pardon attorney for Presidents George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton, who now leads the Collateral Consequences Resource Center. "I can think of only one other pardon as broad as this one, extending as it does to conduct that has not yet been charged, and that is the one that President Ford granted to Richard Nixon."<<

Trump "could" perhaps pre-pardon himself. So what? Presidential Pardons are only good for FEDERAL cases, not State or Local.

You can hear people saying, 'Pardon me' a lot"

Ironically, Biden actually *wants* Trump to pardon himself.

It gets him out of the awkward situation of whether he should or should not pardon Trump himself for the good of the country (as Ford did with Nixon)

it's a win-win-win for Biden if Trump pardons himself:

a) those who say 'hell no, don't pardon that crook' are satisfied.

b) those who say 'pardon him to avoid escalating division' are satisfied.

c) Trump is still in an endless world of shit with his many non-federal legal problems.. which is all beyond Biden's control

So go for it Tubby! Accept your guilt and Steaks away...

Pardoning for the sake of self preservation, definitely a new low, and we were already in the gutter.

The GOP is trying to explain to Trump that pardoning his personal lawyer, children and in laws makes them look criminals. Trump is trying to explain to them that he doesn't care. Everyone is a criminal depending on who's in power and he will be pardoning them anyway.
