http://www.npr.org/2020/09/25/...ines-so-they-can-vote

"Florida's law requiring felons to pay fines before they can vote was recently upheld by a federal appeals court. Julie Ebenstein, an attorney with the ACLU's Voting Rights Project, says that in court part of the state's defense was that if felons don't have the funds, others could always pay for them.

"I'm surprised to hear now that third parties who are generously willing to pay people's outstanding legal financial obligations, suddenly they're being accused of a crime for doing exactly what the state suggested was perfectly legitimate," Ebenstein says.

The GOP has done everything to keep felons out of the voter pool. The funny part is that they assume every felon would vote against them. If that wasn't necessarily true before, it is true now. Its interesting to see them referring non profits to the FBI under the theory that anyone paying a felon's court costs is buying their vote. They must feel so impotent, first they tried the permanent exclusion, then they tried the phony civil rights restoration panel that limited the amount to less then 600 per year, then the ballot initiative passed and they were really screwed. 750,000 new votes in the swingiest swing state? Enter the fines and fees.

So here we are with a new poll tax for decades old fees associated with pleading guilty and going to jail, which meant that there was literally no way to pay them. They get out as a felon and there is even less likelihood to be able to pay So the GOP makes that money the barrier to all those new voters. It went up on appeal and feds said that keeping potential voters from voting is perfectly fine if they have ancient debts. Well now they have benefactors. Each vote in Florida counts and this will be fun to watch.

The party that claims to be generous, loving, and Christ-like

have become the furthest thing from it.

They have become systematically brain-washed into thinking they are doing the right thing, and they now revel in their hatred for things that Jesus preached.

Sad...

They have defended him for so long and excused so many lies and so much treason that they can't even see it for wrong anymore. Now its all fair in war and politics. Lady G is the prime example.
