Hundreds of thousands of people remain without power in Iowa and Illinois, and some roads are still impassable, after a powerful windstorm wreaked havoc in the Midwest on Monday. The violent winds spread from South Dakota to Ohio, topping 100 mph in some places.
The storm system, called a derecho, flattened crops, toppled trees and crumpled grain silos. Days later, communities are still assessing the damage. http://www.npr.org/2020/08/13/...es-stock-of-the-damage ------------------------- I was right. |

In further news, Donald Trump cut methane regulations. Trump is getting it done. Curious as to why you are spreading good news about Trump though. Worst environmental record ever. You are right, he is destroying the water, food, air - you know the things we need to live. You should get back to your golden shower now. ------------------------- QOP = Terrorists FK = Gay |

Did you see the mesoscale convective complexes rolling through the Dakotas and Minnesota this morning? Takes a lot of humidity to feed that. How about the cutoff low that is trying to take on tropical characteristics off the VA coast. Norfolk beat its warmest July on record by 1.5 degrees. That was driven entirely by excessively high dewpoints and repeated record warm overnight low temperatures.

Yes, as a weather buff it is interesting to watch, unless of course I'm under it.
