The problem here is that what most people are wearing are face coverings, not masks in the medical sense. Most real masks and respirators have an impact. The cloth face covering you made out of a bandana, a piece of fabric from JoAnne fabrics, or your mom's panties, that you haven't washed in two weeks or more, isn't helping anyone.

The bigger concern for me is that I feel like most people understand a bandana over their face isn't going to save them from an ultra-contagious virus like this one. The masks are no longer about health and safety. They are about compliance. It doesn't matter if it does any good. Just fall in line and comply. Why are you asking questions? They said you need to comply. Now comply. Don't think for yourself. Just do what the people around you are doing and assume they know something you don't.

Sorry, but that isn't how my brain works. In fact, I think this line of thought is dangerous.

Sniper the particle tests show that the three layer cotton masks work great at reducing particle spread from your mouth. Sorry the facts and the data does not fit your world view, but it doesn't change the truth.

Fishermen don't mind wearing them because they aren't masks. Most of the face coverings that fishermen wear only provide 50 spf. LOL You know why? It has holes in it. If coronavirus was the size of a ping pong ball then you might have a point but it isn't. It is 120 nanometers, which is much smaller than a ping pong ball. Do you feel how comfortable and breathable those face coverings are? That is because lots of air flows through it? You know why? Because it has lots of holes in it and they aren't small when we are talking about viruses.
