Maybe the deaths lag a bit. Only time will tell but at the peak in April, we were losing 2,000 per day. We are still losing around 600 people per day to COVID but the number of deaths continues on a slow, steady, decline even throughout June.

We had our second largest number of deaths in FL 2 days ago. The highest in one day was 85 on April 25th. June 23rd was 65. It's going up in FL. Cases started spiking a little less than 2 weeks ago. Numbers will go up quickly.

US reached its all time high cases in one day yesterday at 37,945, compared to 35,930 at the peak April 24th. Deaths are starting to rise slowly. 766 deaths on Jun 23 compared to 739 June 16th. Deaths are going to skyrocket in the next month.

Not sure where you get your info but you are just skimming through data to suit your needs, like usual.

The current death rate compared to confirmed cases. So 5% of 37945 is 1897. So expect 1000-2000 deaths per day within a month.

Now for the told-you-so's:

1. We said this will get out of control with the rush to open.
2. We said this will get out of control without following mitigation like wearing masks and isolating if possible
3. We said deaths will return to 1000+ per day.

But you all know better I guess...

Yeah and that's what they deemed "covid" deaths. We had a spike in "pneumonia" deaths too.

This is not the flu. Don't listen to Trumpsters on here. They'll get you killed.

Houston, 97% ICU capacity, they're screwed.

Other southern cities too.

Health officials warn of unfolding disaster as cases spike in Texas, California, Arizona and other states

HOUSTON - A coronavirus resurgence is wiping out two months of progress in the U.S. and sending infections to dire new levels across the South and West, with hospital administrators and health experts warning Wednesday that politicians and a tired-of-being-cooped-up public are letting a disaster unfold.

It is not undoing months of progress. We set out initially to flatten the curve, which succeeded. The goal was never to prevent everyone from getting it, but only that we would spread out the infections over a longer period of time. Given the nature of the beast, it was always anticipated that most of us would get it.

The curve wasn't flattened though. It's no longer a curve. It's a 90 degree upward spike that dwarf's any minute possibility we had of a "flattened curve". And no again, Trump's projection looked like this:

Not once in his briefs di projections look like this:

Here is FL:

Tpap, quit your clownin'. It's not good.

133+k and rising.

Projections all go over 150k now.

Leadership at the federal level is like...meh.

State leadership is all over the map.

Sad stuff, and it didn't have to be this way.

Just stop the testing is the GOP solution.

It's just the flu.

Okay fine, but this flu is twice as deadly as the average one.

We needed Trump to lead with a national strategy, not this piece meal, hunger games strategy forced upon the individual states and localities.

Probably, too late now.

All caps 'OVER' by June from Garrance.

Now we are highest cases ever and deaths are going back to 1k per day and will rise. Trump adviser said he is not really working this anymore and he doesn't want to be distracted by it. He's not calling and asking about data. He's not worried about cases. He also wants to block covid data from civilians and wants to stop funding for testing and tracing.

Meanwhile he has his DOJ sending stormtroopers out to every state now. It's seems protesters doing minimal violence and damage are more important that thousands dying every day.

Sounds like Trump is going to try to go full nazi before the election.
