Trump is doing everything he can to ensure he gets voted out.

An 0-6 buddy texted me and asked if I got a trump campaign mailer with a self addressed envelope for the survey return (but what they really want is money). He said he sent his back w/o a donation but with an explanation about why he is unfit to be POTUS.

I looked in the garbage and I did get one yesterday, so did the same thing and cited quotes from people like Rex Tillerson, Kelly, Mattis, etc.
I gave them some damn good advise that was worth more than any donation.

After much denying from kevin Mcartney about him considering talking with Trump about resigning after the 1/6 shit-show, there is now audio of him saying (many times) I think I'm going to talk to Trump about resigning....

Also, lets not forget Mcartney is the same guy who denied saying he thought Putin was paying Trump and then was presented with both transcripts and audio of him talking with Ryan about that.

Same thing with Mitch The Two Faced Turtle, in private he wanted the Dems to impeach that SOB Trump so he didn't have to deal with him any more. But, wouldn't go there in public.

So, even his own party leaders wanted him gone. But they didn't/don't have integrity to say that in public and be honest with their constituents.

The GOP has lost their way.

NYT reporters say they have more damaging tapes of Kevin McCarthy

New York Times reporters Alexander Burns and Jonathan Martin shared audio of comments McCarthy made in which he told Republican lawmakers he held Trump responsible for the riot, in a stark contrast to public statements since in which he has defended the former president.

After McCarthy denied making the comment in a statement Thursday, the tape was played on Maddow's show, undermining his denial.

Burns said that the tape captures the "staggering gulf between what Republican leaders say about Donald Trump in public, and to his face, and what they will say about him in private."

"...we have a lot more on tape from this period, which is at the highest levels of American politics," Martin said.

"It is sensitive, it is delicate, and it is high stakes. We have it all on tape, and it's going to - I think - tell a very different story about this period than the story that many people are trying to tell right now."

There's something FAR more important in what was said on the tape.

When McCarthy was describing the conversation that he was going to have with then-president Trump, he goes on about just wanting "to talk to Trump about him resigning."

He didn't want to "get into Pence pardoning him."

...?? For what?? That's the question that needs to be asked. Why would he believe that the subject of Pence pardoning Trump would come up?

What did he think Trump did? Incite an insurrection? Obstruct Congressional proceedings? Engage in a conspiracy to obstruct Congress?

That seems FAR more important than everything else, coming from the TOP Republican in the House, who is aiming to be the next Speaker of the House.

But he really wanted to get Trump to step down/resign, and make sure that Pence wouldn't give a pardon to Trump for... what recently happened.
