The answer is dependent on whether your constituents have been gerrymandered into a district that will see you die if old age before you are voted out of office or whether you have a chance to lose and you have to acknowledge all those lies trump told were not in fact "perfect" and you that you get it but the general election should decide this, not the senate.

The senate as a jury delivered a miscarriage of justice and they know the November election will force their rationale for doing so to become fodder for their opponents. Moscow Mitch pioneered this type of senate paralysis with the Merrick Garland punt. He said the voters would decide who picks the next Supreme Court justice and promptly refused to do his job until after the election. This is what is happening with trump. This is what they want. They want absolution in the form of trump's reelection. They can avoid any accountability, pretend their constituents made the choice and masquerade as lawmakers.
