The Senate has no backbone.

The will put Party before country.

It's politics. Facts don't matter...

It really doesn't matter. Trump will rant and rave about his proven innocence via the Republican Senate, but his true colors will become glaringly clear during the heated parts of the election. The man is a whack job and he will no longer be able to avoid real public exposure. This will be a real eyeopener to those who don't pay much attention to politics and they will either vote accordingly or not vote at all.

Trump is mortally wounded by this. The senate will not deliver the death blow because that would take a group of senators to put their humanity above their party. The death blow will happen at the election and the gravity surrounding the trump implosion will pull many of the cowards out of their party orbit and loyalty and down into the trump implosion. This impeachment was the beginning of a process and while it should have ended with Trump's removal, it will not despite foreshadowing his defeat at the polls. The most revealing aspect of this process will be when the GOP senators have to run on their record to get re-elected and they cannot answer how or why they never stood up for the beliefs that they must espouse to get re-elected. A reckoning is coming.

Ha. Even progs see that yesterday's proceedings were a dud. But in true prog fashion, they cannot see that their own stupidity is to blame Instead, they point the finger at the Senate.

What if the hearings end up proving that there were good reasons that Hunter Biden and Joe Biden's activity should have been investigated?

Do you guys think this still damages Trump if he was trying to investigate real corruption?

Yeah, no.

The facts are undeniable that Trump abused his power to extort a critical US/NATO ally to better his chances of winning the election, jeopardizing the security of Europe and the US.

Bribery as an impeachable offense, is written directly into the original constitution.

So, under no circumstances was Trump allowed to investigate corruption into Hunter Biden?

Hunter Biden has already said that he doesn't know why he was chosen for that position and that it was most likely because of his last name, at a time when his father was overseeing our involvement with Ukranian energy. Hunter Biden knew nothing about energy and nothing about Ukraine.

If one of Trump's kids started receiving millions of dollars from Ukraine or China for consulting on a subject they admit they know nothing about, would you afford them the same benefit of the doubt?

Would you want to impeach members of congress for asking for Ukraine's help in investigating the Trump Family?

There is a clear double-standard here. The Democrats are on a mission to get Trump thrown out of office by any means necesary and this is just the latest angle they are trying to use. This has nothing to do with this phone call or with Ukraine.

I wouldn't say "under no circumstances..."

But he needs to go about it using the proper channels, using the proper investigative tools at his disposal (FBI, CIA, etc.). Not using his personal attorney.

BTW, please share with us what evidence do you have that he was *actually* investigating the Bidens in a proper manner, and not using it as a political tool...

if your fantasy "what if" scenario included that he legally investigated real corruption I doubt anyone would have a problem.

Trump never once mentioned the word "corruption" in his request for a favor. Trump can and should look into corruption, beyond his own corruption, but he must use the means of the state for the benefit of the state. He cannot send his personal lawyer for his personal gain in the next election.

So, progs, what's your next line of attack? With all this alleged corruption, you have to have a wealth of choices. But this wasn't entirely in vain - it should help Trump and the GOP in next year's election. So give yourselves a pat on the back.
