Republican Rep Gooden Introduces Resolution to Oust Nadler From Judiciary Chair

A freshman congressman from Texas introduced a House resolution to remove House Judiciary Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) from his post as head of the committee.

Rep. Lance Gooden (R-Texas) - the first-term congressman who replaced former Rep. Jeb Hensarling (R-Texas) after his retirement - announced the resolution in a press release on Tuesday.

The release said that the resolution would "formally recognize the illegality of impeachment proceedings overseen" by Nadler.

Gooden pointed out the Democrats had "sanctimoniously declared" their backing of "the rule of law" recently and called on them "to follow those rules and hold Chairman Nadler accountable for breaking them."

The Texas Republican then raised the point that, under U.S. law, Nadler could not begin impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump without a full House vote and blasted the House Judiciary chairman's move as an "attempted coup" against the president.

Gooden called for the House to oust Nadler from his chairmanship and that none of his "accomplices" on the committee be considered to replace him.

"By law, he may not launch impeachment proceedings until the full House votes for him to do so. This attempted coup against a duly-elected, sitting president is unprecedented and must be stopped. I urge the Majority to move immediately to have him stripped of his chairmanship and that any accomplices on the Judiciary Committee not be considered as a replacement."

It is unclear if the Democrat-controlled House will take up Gooden's resolution.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) announced on Tuesday that the House would be taking up an impeachment inquiry against Trump regarding reports that he asked Ukranian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden during a July phone call. Trump has since released the transcript of the call.

worry not, lil' f'er. our spineless, crooked, republican senate will not impeach the chosen one. they believe the party is more important than the country.

this is exactly like President Clinton. his crooked senate would not remove him from office.

corruption on both sides of the aisle.

vote him out.

lock him up.

sit back, enjoy the show.

popcorn please.
