Whether you love her or hate her, if you aren't just an uninformed troll and want to actually know what this is about, tune in to MSNBC at 8pm tonight for a live event in Bronx, NY.

If you're going to be for or against something, at least be informed about it.

Not sure it's possible, but imaging if we could have an intelligent debate about something right here on NSR?

If you can form an argument more cerebral than "progs are stupid poo-poo heads" watch the event and bring your criticism.

I have long since given up on any chance of intelligent debate on NSR. It is kind of funny to see a new entrant come aboard. They try to have intelligent conversation at first, but eventually see the futility of it. That said, I wouldn't be adverse to watching the show as I am sure it would be informative on some level. But, as it is, I shall be drinking beer and watching basketball. Watching March Madness is one of my great joys in life.

Know-it-all Trump zealots fare poorly on here, that's for sure. Hell, that might be the only thing Trumapblo has ever gotten right.

I have never seen, nor do I ever expect to see an intelligent discussion on this forum. An intelligent discussion would be where facts are presented, specific conclusions derived based on those facts and meaningful debate conducted on those conclusions with logic and reasoning. This would preferably be done respectfully and in an orderly manner while staying on point. What happens here whenever that is attempted are personal attacks, emotional ranting and complete divergence from the subject at hand. This is and always has been the leftist strategy. For example, I contend that it is a historical fact that socialism has repeatedly and predictably led to economic degradation, oppression, tyranny, persecution of dissent and the abolition of justice. Sanders and AOC offer nothing new nor do they intend to. The floor is now open. Entertain me

Then please explain why many countries in Europe excel and why so many are deemed the happiest in the world?

You can contend all you like, but that doesn't mean you are right.

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) special report on the impacts of global warming found that "limiting global warming to 1.5°C will require rapid and far reaching transitions in land, energy, industry, buildings, transport and cities and that global net human-caused emissions of carbon dioxide need to fall by about 45% from 2010 levels by 2030, reaching net zero around 2050".

That's 11 years. AOC has a bold plan. If you don't like it present an alternative. Entertain me.

We aren't the problem. China, India, etc are. How far are you willing to go to stop them? Are you certain enough that this is a catastrophic event that you are ready to send soldiers to die for this cause?

Before people are going to get on board with this stuff, people are going to need specific information on what the measurable short-term and long-term goals of such a program would be. We would need to have information, from scientists not politicians, on what specific problems we expect it to solve.

Joe Bastardi: Climate change agenda is being driven by hysteria, not facts By Joe Bastardi | Fox News
. Throughout my 40 year career as a meteorologist, I have tried to live up to the responsibility I inherited from my predecessors. I was taught to strive for objective truth, irrespective of where the data would lead. Science is not a belief system based on feelings or subjective motives. It is about facts, evidence, theories and experimentation in search of a conclusion.
The impassioned speech by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., to Congress last week revealed volumes about the intent and commitment of those pushing the Green New Deal. I can't help but question if their positions are based on facts.
Ocasio-Cortez's statements about adverse climate effects and policy proposals reflect a lack of knowledge about energy policy and the geopolitical and financial impacts of abandoning fossil fuels in a quick and reckless manner. "The world is going to end in 12 years if we don't address climate change," she said earlier this year - a statement clearly designed to elicit panic but hardly based on fact.
In this age of political hysteria, we must all educate ourselves on the facts - the actual science. Unfortunately, there seems to be a total lack of awareness about important issues that scientists like myself - who aren't paid by research grants - are concerned about.
Instead, climate science is being used as a political weapon, and the voices of scientists like me are being ignored or even vilified. I was under the impression that in the United States, all voices and arguments should be heard. Climate science is not settled science. If it was, why would there be a continuous flow of money to research it?
For example, is AOC aware that in the fossil fuel era, in spite of a four-fold increase in population, deaths have plummeted?

Wiki:
Bastardi is an outspoken contrarian regarding human-induced global warming. He has written a book describing his views, which are sharply at odds with the scientific consensus on the topic.

Bastardi asserts that the changes due to carbon dioxide are tiny compared to other factors so it cannot cause global warming.[19] He writes "In the entire geological history of the planet, there has been no known linkage between CO2 and temperatures."[20] Bastardi also states that carbon dioxide cannot cause global warming because this would violate the first law of thermodynamics, a misunderstanding of that gas's role in causing warming. He has further explained:

"CO2 cannot cause global warming. I'll tell you why. It doesn't mix well with the atmosphere, for one. For two, its specific gravity is 1 1/2 times that of the rest of the atmosphere. It heats and cools much quicker. Its radiative processes are much different. So it cannot -- it literally cannot cause global warming. --- Joe Bastardi, Fox Business, March 9, 2012."

Physicist Richard A. Muller states that Bastardi's explanation of CO2 is "completely wrong" and "even skeptics of global warming, if they know physics, would disagree with him."

Cranky, your homework assignment is to write a report on "confirmation bias".

There isn't!

"Scientific consensus on global warming
There is No Consensus on Global Warming. The theory of global warming being caused by human activity is not accepted by a consensus of scientists as a matter of universally accepted scientific fact."

You do understand that those sites have no scientific credibility what so ever, don't you?

And once again, repeating the same incorrect information over and over still doesn't make it right, no matter how many 'sites' run with the same story.

Damn you are dumb.
