The GOP has been on a long term crusade to bleed the public school system dry and introduce profit motivated "charter" schools to syphon tax payer money into private hands.
The only bright spot has been teacher's unions going to the street to fight for the kids.

Local schools around here are full of trumpists, most of the "good" teachers my kids had over the years have left. The pay is too low, and the disrespect all too common.

Billions and billions taken from public schools across the nation when 90% of children get a public education.

Test the kids, test the teachers, unless they are in charter or private schools who don't have the same prescribed high standards. Funding without verification; the Republican way.
