I've been thinking about putting a foil on a paddle board. Has anyone ever tried them or know where I could try one out?

Did a little research and below is a link that I've been thinking of trying out?

Check with the kite and foil board place in
Cocoa Beach, 180 Canaveral Plaza Blvd.

Also take a look at Laitham Kellum's instagram.
He rides some really short foil boards though....

I really enjoy the foil. It's now my absolute favorite but comes with a learning curve. Pretty much forget most of what you've learned surfing. As soon as you gain speed, get forward like you're trying to pearl, twist first then lean to initiate a turn, most of the time you SPEED UP on a turn.... it's a weird transition. BUT, if you put in the time even being bad at it is the most fun you'll have on the water.

I bought the Naish XL wing mostly because I made my own SUP foil board and at the time they offered the adjustable mount. That adjustment (now offered by GoFoil and most others) helps and changes the way the board flies a lot especially as the conditions change. I actually liked prone paddling into waves while learning, now much prefer to stand the whole time.

Keep an eye on GoFoil's social media. They have demos and some opportunities to get behind a boat. Find a friend with one and ride behind a boat is best case scenario.

Here's a clip of my board conversion and me learning to ride it. Board was finished Halloween and this was about a week and a half later. At first you just pop up and kinda go wherever it takes you - now much more in control of the foil for some real turns and riding. Junk, gutless days are the best days.

Don't start. There is your warning. It is addictive and expensive and it will be all you want to do. I swear cocaine is probably cheaper.

For real. It is a blast. Fastest way to learn is behind a boat. That way you can spend a lot of time learning how to foil with out having to worry about catching waves or using a kite or a windsurfer. Once you have the concept of the foil down. Then move on to other things. this is kind of long but some good info. https://www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Stand-Up-Paddle/Foiling/Foil-Frothers-Info-night-with-JB-and-James-Casey-Video also https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2uLN-RfuAgE
