Mr. Paul Chapman passed away yesterday on his 66th birthday. It was announced on his Facebook page.
I wasn't a current friend of Paul but I have a lot of friends grieving today over the loss. I first met Paul Chapman in the early 80s when he lived in a condo across from Dakine Burritos in Satellite. My surf buddy was friends with him and I met him a few times during dawn patrol sessions and he would be hanging on the beach after an all nighter. When he played with UFO they had some really good music. I again met Paul Chapman a few years ago at the 80s In The Park music festival. He didn't remember me and basically said, that was the 80s. I don't remember anything! He has taught many Brevardians how to play the guitar. I heard he was a super nice guy and of course he was a really great musician. Rest In Peace, Mr Paul Chapman. |

Bummed; I was hoping to take lessons from him when I retire. He did good work with UFO. 66 is pretty young; any news on cause of death?

The Paul Chapman last Sunday was super fun. Here is a vid I took of a bunch of local musicians performing a UFO song 'Lettin' Go' (1980)
