Los Angeles Times reports that the University of California Regents, the governing body of the entire UC system are not happy with UCLA's fast move, presented as a fait accompli after secret negotiations. A major concern is that UC Berkeley, remaining in the Pac-12 will be negatively affected.
UCLA's big swath of athletic programs is in a financial hole and the Big Ten is certain to bring better revenue, not to mention that with USC absconding to Big Ten, it's difficult for UCLA not to join it. Another problem for UCLA is that it ramped up a number of its programs to serve Olympic hopefuls.
