FYI

2 years ago I purchased a pair of OluKai slippahs from the Army-Air Force Exchange. I have worn them every day and everywhere (except in Nashville this past January, it was 20 degrees with snow). They still look almost brand new and the soles are just now showing a little bit of wear.

Got a new, fancier pair yesterday, they are all leather and they look outstanding. They are for sure my new Dress Slippahs!

I'm letting all ya'll know because I've gone through some fairly pricey Reefs and such that wear out like the old 99 cent flip flops from 7-11 !! Check out the OluKai brand. They are not cheap but they are probably The Best "shoes" I have ever owned!

No, not "boujie".

I just have a taste for "sensible shoes". LOL

Boujie. got it somewhere between 99 cent flip flops and Reefs (insert brand here) are Ross and CVS knockoffs that last 1 or 2 years, for 1/10th of the price. Be "sensible" all you want, discuss

Still live in, and love, leather rainbows.. pricey - got last 2 as gifts.. even they don't last forever; soles wear out and even blew out one hiking down to Waipio.. Recently picked up a backup pair of flojos at costco for ~$10; comfy but no leather.. allergic to 'shoes'.. gotta stay 'in uniform'..

2nd on the Rainbows. Standard issue at my place.

Capitalism is based on the ridiculous notion that you can enjoy limitless growth in a closed, finite system.

In biology, such behavior of cells is called "cancer".

You can return your worn out Rainbows and I think they rework them then donate the sandals to protect the feet of the homeless, orphaned, and victims of natural disasters. They have a store in San Clemente in the "Ghetto", it's really cool place to visit after a surf.

I'm a big Rainbows fan too but I wear non-leather flip-flops at the pool deck and showers at the gym. The cheapies are too slippery so I usually get a pair with traction. This time and I sprang for oofos - pricey but worth it. Very comfortable and stable, and the toe piece does not cause blisters like typical rubber flops. Rainbows are still my everyday choice.

Buyer beware.... They must have changed manufacturing plants or cut costs on materials. I just bought a pair of Olukai Ohana flip flops, they are barely a year old normal use and they are already wearing through the top sole and sides. My last pair lasted around three years before there was any notice of wear n tear. I'm going with the Rainbows when these fall apart soon.
