New modeling from The Australian National University (ANU) looks at seven scenarios of how the current outbreak may impact the world's wealth, ranging from low-severity to high-severity.

In the low-severity model - or best-case scenario - ANU researchers estimate a global GDP loss of $2.4 trillion, with an estimated death toll of 15 million.

Keep an eye on your vegan friends but watch them from afar. If you don't have any then find a way to meet a few and ask them if it is okay if you keep an eye on them. They are the canaries in the coal mine. Anytime an illness sweeps through a large office building, vegans start dropping like flies well in advance of anyone else. When I worked in a large office setting, I watched the vegan and vegetarian kids like a hawk. I explained why I was doing it and they understood because they knew that the lack of meat had left their bodies with a feeble immune system and frame. As soon as one started coughing, I was on high alert. If one threw up or shit their pants, I grabbed my belongings and sprinted to my car.

dunno, vegans these days tend to be better informed about dietary needs than they used to. part of their problem was nutrient deficiency caused by diet and ignorance of their body's requirements. most have learned that there are complete proteins and sources of other nutrients to replace the missing essentials and dont have the issue you describe

I know It's damn shame. Just think of what they could have done if they had the proper amount of meat in their diet. They didn't do badly this year, considering they were probably playing sick all the time and their bodies were probably trying to digest themselves for most of the season.

On a more serious note, I don't know if I've ever heard of a virus where you either hardly know you have it or you die. I guess there have to be some people in the middle but you don't hear anyone talking about them much.
