Y'all need to review your carrier's 'new' 2026 rules.

1 carry on plus 1, AND ONLy ONE, personal item seems to be a new thing that looks to be enforced. New 'AI video screening' at check in is being used to 'count' your items! Your neck pollow can now be flagged as a 'personal item'!? WTF? Yep!

Big mess. Charging for checked bags made everyone bringing maximum-sized carry-ons to the planes, leading to more bags than there is space to put them. And longer boarding times as the bags get handled.

Increasing numbers of people arrange to be transported by wheelchair to the boarding ramp for earlier boarding. Then they are miraculously able to walk and lug bags at the destination (seems big with Southwest).

The wheel chair 'thing' is Law. I am 'ambulatory' but, I am 70+ and the Law says that I can request wheels from checkin to the gate! But now, I do take advantage of my 'elder' privileges and get boarded before Group 1.
