I first met Joe in 1971. I thought he was a surf star. Saw him several random times throughout the years. although it is 10 years or more since I saw him last. I hope he died doing something he loved.
Go in peace with waves for you, brother.

So if you are a surfer I wish you the prosperity that allows you more time to pursue the salt water dream, and the true happiness that comes from warm water, clean waves and the companionship of your fellow surfers. If you are an internet troll just spewing bs then f off.

I'm 70 years old now. As a kayak guide and show technician, I am in decent shape.
Lost over a year to a messy hip replacement though.
I had a moment out aIone a big day at Patrick pier or around rc/mark. Big waves, no one out, my favorite place...nice...but what if?
Who hasn't felt a board whizzing by their ear, another near miss.
I'm not young now. But I'm going to surf, sail, dive etc. as much as I'm allocated, I guess.
Divers have a very strict rule in the water:
dive with a buddy.
