The new venue, News-Journal Center, has helped ticket sales, so the 650 seats in the lower tier may sell out. An effort's being made to open up the upper tier. If that falls through, it may be a sellout. A nice one-night program this week, and a pretty spectacular event is set for November. The Festival is now cooperating with Daytona State College, which has serious media programs and runs the big riverfront theater. I haven't been there, but it seems a well designed venue. Turnout was more than 700, a record. The theater, very nice, very well suited to movies.

Great event. Caught some fun waves early at the inlet this morning before the crowd chased me away back to Brevard for the dropping tide and more fun waves!
