https://beachgrit.com/2024/07/worlds-sharkiest-surf-spot-surfing/ I know someone will fix link. Best wave in Fl possibly east coast when it's on. Who else remembers perfect storm swell? Rattling lefts. Looked like Cloudbreak . Best surf here in 27 years.

Take the s off of the https to get the link to work.

Oh and, it's the "Canova Cruiser". I never ever heard anybody call it the 'runner'.

I was also tested there in Sept 1972 (just before 11th grade). We had been camping at the Inlet the last week before school resumed and it had sucked for the whole week. We were going across the bridge back to surf Patrick/CCB as we had been doing every day (I lived in S. Patrick Shores) and made a U-turn in the middle of the top of the bridge when we saw it. It was GOING OFF! Not sure it was the same exact day as the one dingpatch is referring to, but it was an all time great day.

Left out one detail. A huge storm had come through the night before and wiped out our tent, so we broke into one of the fishing cabins on the north side and spent the night there. When we came back to check on our stuff, it appeared that someone had been in it. I found out a year or so later (from Randy Wesson) that his and Pat Goss's site was in even worse shape, so they had crawled in and spent the night in our tent.

The bar is way out now. It might make for some seriously long runners on the right angled swell but there will be an added spook factor with the longer, "every time I put my hand in the water something is going to bite if off" paddle.

The "bar" extends all the way to the beach now, the channel off the shore is filled in, ask Wavecaster about his long ride there!
