    So far today, 194 rip current rescues. All safe back on beach.

    Yeesh. Admittedly surf can be unkindly to anyone. I've watched an expert suffer a broken leg with a garden-variety six foot wave. And there must have been thousands of people at the beaches, so the trouble rate may not have been so low. BTW, Volusia Beach Safety and Ocean Rescue no doubt keeps accurate stats.
