I have had this surfboard since 1983. I recently got the birth certificate from Bing. It is board #2031, shaped on August 23, 1968, for Caravan Surf Shop in College College Park, Maryland. This board has Bing's rare and coveted custom floral wrap, printed directly on the fiberglass cloth. The Vincent model was named after the motorcycle and is the link between the longboard and modern day shortboard. I am looking for someone to do a full original restoration. The board has a few small dings. Someone did a terrible job glassing the fin into the box before I got it. It needs the fin cut out and the original box refurbished, maybe some slight pigment and possibly a fresh hot coat. This is an extremely rare museum piece and needs a little love and care. This board is local and I would appreciate any feedback or recommendations on who could professionally restore this to original condition. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Bjm6hQtSgtfv_9aZBjPipXW77qDzMCTC/view?usp=drivesdk https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Bo-VNdh_5FuYPQncJDQSRcuCBZjhBupQ/view?usp=drivesdk https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Bj2qdSYS9fR6wA0A7pe06B8wiZswYeEu/view?usp=drivesdk https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Bh-0CYFeNyK_8zD9_kbNI3oX5NQG8iDH/view?usp=drivesdk https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Br1YqHFW-kV-kX3gGX2k1LMLpOeedRk_/view?usp=drivesdk https://drive.google.com/file/d/1BkafEO_NdPgonKNN7Oh2QJXxL7PqgVYc/view?usp=drivesdk

Do not C&P this link. I did and it screwed me. It opened all of my bookmarks, so I am betting it is a hack. Beware. Now to change all my passwords, sigh. Assholes everywhere.

These are legitimate links. How could the mess up you computer? They work fine for me. I intend no harm. This board is legit and I would love to share it with the forum. The formatting is messed up from my android phone. How do I post the pictures of board and birth certificate? I don't want to pay for a photobucket account. Please advise on the best way to post them. [IMG][/IMG]

Not sure how it happened, but all my financial links opened each on a separate web page; bam, bam, bam, bam.... Sorry to cast aspersions, but it freaked the crap out of me.

Not going anywhere near those links LOL but if this is for real I'll help a brother out....I recommend George aka Surfguy. He has a shop in MLB and specializes in restoration not just dings repairs but true restoring...321 960 4430, Tell him long haired Mic sent ya' he just did repairs on my 9'6" (sorry Cole ran that sucker into too many closeout shorebreak barrels recently) and a bunch of Firewires needing attention. People from out of state seek this guy out, he is very, very good.

I would be wary of trying to get it restored. It actually looks pretty good and I kind of like the way the fin has a funky 70s repair hack. There are a guys who will say the can do restorations that will totally screw it up. Collectors are now trending toward little or no restoration, like car collectors, as in it's only original once. Go over it with a magic eraser and some soap and water and it will look a lot better- keep water away from open dings. Even patching the dings can be problematic because it is really difficult to color match on a board like that. The board is freakin' awesome BTW.

I'll third the 'leave it alone' thing. That is one badass board. The old repairs are a picture in time all on their own.

Mic, that thing is glassed like a tank. You must be charging.

It looks like the fin was replaced and glued into the original fin box. The board doesn't look like there's much else to do on it. It doesn't look like a big job to correct what was done by a maniac. Surfguys Expert Board Repair Services 321-956-3268

I resined many a fin into the Star Systems boxes when they stopped producing fins back in the day. At the owners behest of course.
