It always helps that the flatness here is unrelenting.

That small wave did not make its way down to south florida. But I am ahead of the average. I got to surf six days in June. That's pretty good.

Tropical storm conditions are expected on San Andres on Friday,
along the Caribbean coasts of Costa Rica and Nicaragua within the
Tropical Storm Warning areas late Friday, and are possible within
the Tropical Storm Watch areas along the Pacific coasts of Costa
Rica and Nicaragua on Saturday.

Its looking like 4-6 (costa rican scale) on surfline. My guess is that will translate into 8-10 with occasional 12 in Santa Teresa.

How you could find anyone in Santa Teresa is the real mystery. She must have really done something to stand out.

Not surfing for months, then paddling out in ten foot bombs? Fun is not the word that comes to mind.

When I got to Hawaii last month the S. shore was 8-10. I gave my broken toe a few days rest, and afterr that - got on it when it was a much cleaner and more manageable 6-8. It don't stay 8-10 forever

Salsa Brava probably huge right now! I've surfed there before. What a great wave.

Was not needed when I went the beginning of this year. We did have to test returning to US.
Things have changed a bit since then.

I learned a few trips ago that the "urgent" care in Santa Teresa is limited to asking if you have evac insurance. Not the same as an urgent here at all.

I have tried to stay in shape but we all know that not surfing for this length of time means not in surfing shape. I do get my ass kicked but I stay at it and pick my waves carefully.

She let her eyes deceive her. The place only looks like the end of the world. I would think of your pattern is yoga, maybe you hold off for a while. Also, that place is a yoga marijuana colony. May as well have had a neon sign.
