Anyone flown Avainaca to Nica? How tight are they with the following rules from their site...
You can carry a maximum of one board measuring less than 2 meters. If the aircraft is an Embraer 190, a board not exceeding 1.18 meters (5.9 feet) in length is acceptable. If the aircraft you are flying is an ATR, one board per bag is allowed. ------------------------- R I P Mama G. @Salt.And.Savagery.Fishing @Laserwolf.Laserwolf Edited: 05/14/2022 at 05:07 AM by Long Beard |

1.18m = 5.9ft? Hopefully they measure altitude better than they do board length.

Flew American Orlando to El Salvador in Feb , they didn't care either way how many boards or length. !0 foot SUP in board bag $30 each way , same as board bag with three short boards . Good luck , and let us know what you here. Was thinking about using them to get to Montanita in Equador

Minus the board bag fee ($130 going, $172 returning) it was an A+ travel experience. One of the better airlines I've flown in what seems like the past 10 years. Flight was on time, no delays on the tarmac, friendly staff, food, drinks, nice seats, etc... They're still requiring maks, but they're pretty lax about it. Most importantly, boards made it safe and damage-free on both flights. Oh yeah, and we scored.

Thanks for the update! No boards but I too had a great experience with them when I flew to Bolivia.
