Amen to that brother!

Is there anything more terrifying than the paddle out at this event? It's like laying in a corn field as the harvester approaches.

I was going to post this in the Food and Music section , but this thread seemed a little more appropriate ! ( This was Originally released in 1991 , So yeah , the Gurus's have a good 18 years on you , Mr Trosset !!!!! ) ------ and by the way . I would like to buy my Vintage 7'6 Hansen pintail back from you , The One with the double stringers, one Balsa and the other Redwood . If we can reach a fair price ? A personal response would be gratefully appreciated !

I want to rag on what it's become but nah... I remember walking with the toddlers to the Xmas eve morn event at 16th st? And eating free doughnuts w the kids. I've played music at the event (PIA) and been grabbed and had a line of tourists taking pics since I had Santa hat and board. Like the commercial aspect or not it's now truly a CB tradition. Not gonna fight the fun . Hope to c u all there!!!

Yes, it's super fun. I'm sorry for people who think differently than that. Balsa Bill performs at 8am'ish. It's also great for photography and videography.

and, if you want to hang out after my band is playing at Hunkerdown at 2pm.

You boys got me all wrong , I totally embrace the absolute absurdity off it all and if not for the virus , I too, would be going once again , if only for the sheer entertainment value !

I plan on driving down from NSB for it. Was an event I was super excited to "surf" in when I first moved to Florida and started surfing. It's kinda ridiculous to drive an hour when I got waves in my backyard, but I do enjoy participating when I can!

I watch it, I just don't surf in it.

I might bring the camera this year.

The weather sure looks pretty. Can't decide whether to watch, participate, or go paddle somewhere because the weather is too nice to hang around and watch,

Used to really enjoy it when it was in south CB. Then it grew huge.
I'm now hit and miss on going. Last time was kind of a debacle and wasn't sure I wanted to do that again. Watching the vids is a kick, though.

Butttt....I love the concept and do support their efforts.

kind of like Burning Man, it got really popular and the vibe changed.
And so it goes.
