Man sad to hear. Didn't know him personally but knew his car and whenever I pulled up to a spot if I saw his car there I knew I made the right choice. Condolences to his friends and family. Seemed like a great dude. Enjoy those long point breaks up there Sunrise Surfer, you will be missed

Guy seemed stoked everytime I saw him in the water. Sad news indeed

Goodness, this is such a huge hit for our community. I loved that guy. He was always there looking out for me when I was a grom and accompanied me, BigSpike, and Reggaemylitis to Costa Rica after I graduated from high school. The lineup will feel a lot emptier without him around. Devastated.

Years ago I posted a photo from San Onofre from my phone on 2L. Sunrise posted right back with "Paddleout Where are you???"

we met up on the beach moments later and had a nice all day session surfing Old Mans. That was cool.

Catch a clean one in the sky for us

Sunrise - 8600+ posts Thanks for countless front page reports through the years. Thanks for all the post surfing photo stories. Thanks Dan for all the years of stoke --- you put smiles on a lot of peoples faces.
