YouTube This young, athlete had a hard landing on a middling size wave, nothing special. Broke both lower leg bones, one penetrating the skin, assorted damage to ankle. Will walk again in two months. Thursday at the Newport Wedge. I put some stills from the video down at the bottom.

    I wouldn't be surprised. The last huge swell at a high tide, July 4 last year, caused a lot of flooding

    Recent crop from a large image. I'm surprised at what you can get out of a small-sensor compact camera. Craig Whitten again. He's local, knows Wedge extremely well, seems to be getting a big reputation in the small world of US bodyboarding.
