We stayed here in 01 during semana santa. The building on the hill is called The lookout inn. We were in a green 72 for econoline and pulled in just north of where he quit raking the fronds. The owner came down to meet a plane and saw us. He yelled, It's mine!!! I gave him a thumbs up. He came speeding back, turned into our site, and busted his arse. He was laying in a pile with a running motorcycle on him. I lifted the bike off, picked him up, and dusted him. He gave me the tour. Let us use his pool shower and real toilet outside. In return, we shared our mota with his clients.

A cool little slice of civilization carved out of the jungle. It looks epic.

I was right.

It's right on the edge of the Corcovado game reserve. I talked with a biologist there who told the tale of meeting a pack of Picaries walking out into a clearing there. He said they all turned towards him, started clacking their teeth together, and chased him up a tree until dark.
