All that recent dredge and fill dirt looks like it was washed out to sea. Typically in the past, dredge and fill projects have flattened the surf bottoms to the point the break is not that good. I remember a decade or two ago when they 'renourished' patrick's beaches the surf bottoms were really screwed up for a year or two after.

This was the first time Satellite down to Indialantic was 'renourished'. In the past they just touched up some dunelines, but this was the big one where they went all up and down Brevards Rocky/coquina shoreline of Sat/IHB. It will be interesting to see where the latest round of dredge and fill dirt ends up. Does it fill the rock shelves of Satellite? Does it form a good breaking sandbar on the outside?!? Pretty much all of that dirt piled up on Satellite's beach has been flattened down & washed away. Just a glancing thought I had, We will see!

In St. Aug, after Hurricane Matthew... alot of sand was pulled off the beach/dunes and into the lineup. Sandbars got shallow and Waves broke really well for awhile. Unfortunately the water got super nasty..... and I had a house to rebuild

I think beach nourishment of PAFB beaches starts as soon as turtle season ends. Be ready if thats your spot late fall/winter

True.^. They've been servicing equipment at the Spessard rehandling site. Getting ready I suppose? No dredge pipe in the water, yet.

Such an expensive and short lived endeavor.

I wonder what will happen with the deep trough on the inside all throughout CB that's been awful for our breaks. Also since sand flows north to south and gets blocked by the jetties why not just continuously pump sand underneath the port and let it flow more naturally down the coast? Seems a lot more pragmatic than what they do now.

Today in Satellite the waves were kind of wonky with no defined bottom. Just an observation...

Yep. Deep bar, even deeper trough. Last week, during the glassy swell, it was connecting all the way thtough to the beach. With feelin'.

Patrick is jacked. The fun wave from last week is just a distant memory.

Cocoa beach is still connecting at the right spots.

Fun peelers today in CB. Patrick didn't look too bad, just lack of swell.

I've seen giant swells do way more damage.

Yeah that was fun. I was surprised. Griffin's (sp?) friends are hilarious!
