Ya, it's a constant question on here but, , , , ,
I'm looking for suggestions on a good daily sunscreen for regular street wear. The folks at the VA and Vanderbilt in Nashville told me very plainly that after my upcomming Bone Marrow Transplant a lot of the "drugs" that I will have to take for at least for most of the first year will result in me being VERY sensitive to sunlight. They told me that they have had people become SO SENSATIVE that they have gotten a "sun burn" from just answering the front door on a bright sunny day!!! WTF!!!!! So, whats we goI? I shall become a "Mole Man"!!! ------------------------- Dora Hates You Edited: 05/13/2020 at 01:31 PM by dingpatch |

UV protective long sleeve shirt, full length pants, gloves, a hat for your scalp, and a full mask. Better yet, don't go out in the daytime. Pretend you are a vamp

US standards mean you can't find much difference among brands. Australia has somewhat different standards and has found some to be relatively long lasting. In other words, their regulators have actually thought about people who work outdoors and beach people. What I don't know is how you'd smuggle the stuff into the country.
I have ancestors from places like Ireland and Vaasa, Finland.

My Dermo always recommends Blue Lizard. Pretty sure they are Aussie Based and you can buy it off Amazon.

Natural and organic sunscreen
and reef safe, but you don't need it for that. It sure doesn't come off very easy. ------------------------- Puerto Rico 11 - 24 - 2013 Edited: 05/14/2020 at 06:17 AM by SunriseSurfer |

Most of the good ones leave you looking like a vampire has had his way with you; pale and pasty. I've used Badger, Blue Lizard, Cera ve, Ocean Potion and pretty much every other sunscreen known to man and the original Aloe Gator is the only one that truly works for me. I had to order my last one from Canada.

I use the "clear" one from Badger I glopped it on at work (in the woods), then took a look in the mirror after a trip into Publix on my way home. Doh! ------------------------- I was right. |

I listened to a dermatologist on the radio and he said we don't apply enough in the beginning. I guess I listened too well.

Ditto Blue Lizard via mail order.
Coolibar and Solumbra for expensive but very high quality and long lasting sun protection clothing. And of course the Excel or FCS bucket hat.

Babo Botanicals
I use the clear zinc one. And it's reef safe! And it doesn't smell horrible like most of them. |
