My son was doing a dawn patrol run to the Gulf Coast early this morning, and his board flew out of the truck. Didn't notice until they got to Tampa, so it could be anywhere.

If some kind soul happens to find it, please let me know. It's a magic board.

321-759- five six four seven

5'10" Kechele Stub Fish, blue, swallowtail, thruster setup. Surftech/Tuflite construction, so there's hope it survived impact.

Old photo, before some extra traction pads:

Thanks for the sympathy mp2115 and for the idea, FordV... I posted it on the Lost & Found sections of CraigsList for Spacecoast, Orlando, and Tampa. The only Facebook Lost and Found I saw was nationwide. I'll check the Marketplace thingy as soon as I get home.

That sux. I'm on those roads all of the time for work. I'll keep and eye out, maybe it blew off to the side somewhere.

Reunited, and it feels so good!

There are some good people in this world!

Matt Kechele and a guy named Patrick among them.

Patrick found the board way off the side of I-4, between Disney and Lakeland, saw the serial # and Kech's signature, found and contacted Kech on the internet.

Kech had seen the post here, and put Patrick in touch with me.

I drove over to Davenport last night, picked it up, and returned it to my son as a surprise. His jaw dropped like he was looking at a ghost.

Only minor damage to the board.

Patrick wouldn't take any reward money; he just said his daughter wanted to learn to surf, and if my son gave her a lesson, that would be paying it forward enough. We'll get that worked out before she moves to SoCal.

I'll add a shout-out for his business, Fossil Funatics. If you (or a relative visiting FL) want to go hunt for shark teeth, he runs well-reviewed tours doing just that. https://www.facebook.com/fossilfunatics/

I love this little community and its peeps. Glad to have a site like 2L with enough traffic to make these reunions possible.
