Just an FYI, there are now direct flights from Miami to Casablanca, Morocco. Its pretty neat as you leave at night and you wake up the next day in African continent.

no need to connect through Europe and time the connections although the benefit of going through Europe is you can fly direct to South Morocco from an European city. With Casablanca route, you still have to drive about 4 hours to get to south Morocco. The drive is scenic through the Atlas mountains and you can play the tourist in Marrakesh along the way.

Check royalairmaroc.com in calendar view when searching flights and you can get round trip flights for approx 692 Dollars. It used to cost me 1200 bucks to connect through Europe as I go there regularly.

My buddy takes care of traveling surfers so he said to send him people... We have a neat set up of condos in front of the major spots so he usually prefers a group of 2-4 people to share an appt.

Feel free to send me a PM if you are potentially interested in going.

Waves need no introduction Im assuming

It was taken Oct 21 2015. Its Boilers about a 45 min drive from Taghazout. Its where Dane Reynolds filmed his surf movie "Boiler boys". The adjacent spot is Dracula.

I've been to a lot of places in the world for surfing, hiking and general travel, and the two weeks I spent in Morocco in October top my travel list. Waves for all kinds of surfing, fascinating history and culture, and amazing food. Anybody's who is thinking about it should definitely go. And definitely spend some time in Marrakesh.

When I was a student, we had a prof (Mad Max for his carelessness about safety) who had moved his seaweed research to Morocco. He lived long and prospered. A great deal of what's good about southern Spanish (and therefore Latin American) culture came via Morocco. So yes, making the place halfway easy to get to is a big deal. There were once nonstop Miami-Cape Town flights. No sign of that happening again. Flights to Brazil seem to be getting better. There was just a quick bargain on winter (our summer) flights to Rio. From Orlando, even.
